MUSCO 2025 Bursary Program Update: 46 Beneficiaries

MUSCO-Bursary-Issuance-2026
Bursary Needs & Rationale
Access to quality education remains a key driver of long-term community development in Muhoroni and the surrounding outgrower zones. Many families face financial pressure that can disrupt school attendance, limit performance, and increase the risk of dropouts especially for students transitioning to secondary and tertiary levels. Through structured bursary support, vulnerable learners are able to remain in school, stay focused on their studies, and pursue their goals without the burden of unaffordable fees.
Intervention & Impact
On 20 February 2025, the Kipchimchim Group, through the Mzee Samwel Chepsetyon Foundation, conducted its annual bursary issuance for needy students, officiated by the Group Chairman and supported by senior management from Muhoroni Sugar Company 2025 Ltd. A total of 46 students were awarded bursaries following a competitive and transparent selection process, with local administration present to reinforce accountability and community oversight. The program concluded with the presentation of bursary cheques, and community representatives commended the initiative while encouraging continued expansion of education-focused support programs.
